On 1-3 May 2026 the "Aerosploty" air show took place at Bielsko-Biała Aleksandrowice airfield. This year's edition was special, as the event was combined with the 80th anniversary of the Glider Experimental Works (SZD) and the 90th anniversary of Aleksandrowice airfield.
The Aerosploty air show in Bielsko-Biała
On 1-3 May 2026 the „Aerosploty” air show took place at Bielsko-Biała Aleksandrowice airfield. This year’s edition was special, as the event was combined with the 80th anniversary of the Glider Experimental Works (SZD) and the 90th anniversary of Aleksandrowice airfield.
One of the most spectacular parts of the opening was a parade of five tow plane and glider teams. The parade featured a JAK-12M and five PZL-104 Wilga aircraft.

The Cloud Elite Gliding School was invited to take part in this special display with its PZL-104 Wilga, registration SP-FWU.
On 1 May our Wilga took off from Mirosławice heading for Bielsko-Biała. On the way we landed in Gliwice, where an SZD-35 Bekas glider was hooked up and then ferried to Bielsko.
That same evening the parade rehearsal took place, during which all the teams could practise the joint flypast before the official opening of the show.

During the parade we flew as the second team. Behind our Wilga was an SZD-9bis Bocian-1D glider, which looked superb in the air during the flypast that opened the event.
The whole parade was a great opportunity to show the history of Polish gliding and the designs connected with the SZD works, which built the reputation of Polish aviation worldwide over decades.
Back to Mirosławice
On the way back to Mirosławice we ferried a glider again. This time we took the Bocian to Gliwice, wrapping up an intensive and very successful flying weekend.
Taking part in the event was a great honour for our school and another opportunity to promote gliding and sport aviation.
